The Medfield Anthology Walking play based on archival research and local memories of the Medfield State Hospital:
The first public staged reading of “The Medfield Anthology,” a site-informed performance piece set at the Medfield State Hospital, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 4 pm to 5 pm (Chapel open at 3:30 pm).
“The Medfield Anthology,” created by MAPC Artist-in-Residence Hortense Gerardo is comprised of several vignettes depicting the history of the institution based on archival research and interviews with residents of the Town of Medfield. Audiences will be taken on a walking tour of the former hospital as they witness seven work-in-progress dramatic vignettes and movement works. Attendees may bring collapsible chairs to use during each vignette.
Free event, rain or shine. This work is in development, with a full production slated for May 2, 2020.
