Local Discretionary Funds & Needs Based Support Programs
Community Assistance Fund
Medfield Outreach partners with The Medfield Foundation (MFi) to offer financial assistance to Medfield residents in need through The Community Assistance Fund (CAF). Funded with proceeds from the Angel Run as well as private donations, CAF is administered by MFi and distributed in consultation with the CAF Team, which consists of, at a minimum, one social worker, one community or faith-based leader and one MFi representative (preferably a board member), all either living or working in Medfield. The CAF Team may consist of additional participants but these three sectors are always represented. The CAF Team meets regularly, at a minimum 6 times a year, either in person or by video, as long as there are funds to distribute.
CAF is used exclusively to aid Medfield residents in their time of need. Need is defined as a request for 1) funds in an emergency situation or 2) funds to improve or enrich a resident’s quality of life as it relates to health, education, and/or dependent care. Each household may make such a request one time per year. Requests will be evaluated on a case by case basis by the CAF Team with careful consideration being paid to other sources of funding for such requests. Requests for rent assistance will be considered but any funding allocated to such a request are limited to a one time payment. The CAF Team retains the discretion to determine that a request which does not fit the above stated criteria may still qualify for funding.
Requests for CAF assistance are made through the Medfield Outreach office in accordance with our procedures and privacy practices. To apply for support from CAF, please contact our office at medfieldoutreach@medfield.net or at (508) 359-7121. Needs Based Support Programs
Medfield Outreach offers support through a Holiday Giving Program, a Birthday Wishes program, and a school supplies program. Additionally, we facilitate requests for support with camp tuition through the MFi Camp Fund. Established in 2017 to help Medfield families who need financial assistance to send their kids to summer camp, the Campership program is available to Medfield residents that are financially eligible.
For more information or to see if you qualify for any of the programs described, please contact our office at medfieldoutreach@medfield.net or at (508) 359-7121
