Wayfinding Committee for Downtown

The Wayfinding Committee was created in 2025 by the Select Board to help guide the wayfinding efforts for downtown Medfield. The Commitee is working with Selbert Perkins Design to develop design intent plans for wayfinding signage throughout our downtown area. The purpose of this initiative is to promote economic development, enhance the pedestrian experience, create a stronger sense of place, and improve vehicular navigation, particularly regarding a perceived lack of parking.

This initiative is being funded by an earmark from Chapter 268 of the Acts of 2022 Economic Development Bill enacted on November 2022. The language of the earmark (1599-6063) states; " ... provided further, that not less than $150,000 shall be expended for wayfinding and streetscape improvements in Medfield ... ". MassDOT has released the funds to the Town of Medfield, which must be spent by December 31, 2026.
