Dog License

All 2025 dog licenses expire December 31st

THE DOG LICENSE CALENDAR IS FROM JANUARY 1 TO DECEMBER 31.

Licensing in MEDFIELD is on a calendar year basis. 


You can register by mail, online at our online payment center, or in person.

Registration is $10.00 for per dog

Current proof of rabies is REQUIRED


Dog registration is a Massachusetts General Law..


If your furry family member no longer lives in MEDFIELD, or has crossed the rainbow bridge,

Every dog owned or kept within the Town of Medfield must be licensed.    Any person who fails to license their dog prior to April 1st shall pay a late fee of $25 in addition to the dog licensing fee, which is $10 per dog. 

(PLEASE NOTE: AS OF OCTOBER 1, 2022, THE TOWN CLERK'S OFFICE WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTING CASH PAYMENTS)

After July 1st, all unlicensed dog information will be forwarded to the animal control officer and violations will issued. The fine for owning or keeping an unlicensed dog shall be $100 for each year that the dog is unlicensed. ( The $100 fine plus the $10 license fee plus the $25 late fee will need to be paid before an license can be issued)

Mail a copy of this registration form, a copy of your recent rabies certificate (REQUIRED), a self addressed stamped envelope and a check for payment to: Town Clerk, 459 Main Street, Medfield, MA 02052.  If you would prefer to pay online (see the column to the left), please note your online payment on the submitted registration form.
